I am sad to say lust must will be closing its doors.
I feel like I forgot the direction of the blog, and
have been posting things that are not as exciting
as they used to be. I will be starting a more
professional and specific design blog in the future,
but until then you can follow my mood on my tumblr account
whimsy whimsy, which is a simple blog dedicated to
beautiful pictures and not so much design.

seems like a lot of people are flocking furniture now a days,

and although i am usually not attracted to the process because

it reminds me of old ornaments and blow up furniture,

i am reallyyy loving johnny egg's current flocked line available at heals.

i am not a huge orange fan, but i know someone who is

and this flocked orange chair from english eccentrics is AMAZING!

it comes in a variety of colors and seriously blows me away.

what a great way to add color to a room, especially

from a piece that is usually so serious.

on a side note, it is really easy to make flocked items

look cheap, an easy way to avoid that is to make

that piece a focal point or the only piece of color in the area.

i finally have some time to update the blog!

unfortunately, this is a crappy update haha

i have not taken many pictures because

i have the entire year to do it and don't want

to freak out my new flat mates by taking

out my camera every time we walk by something pretty.

i am really enjoying it here though,

it is not much different from the states

aside from the obvious differences in

cars and signs and the beautiful

architecture. i am excited for the

next year here, i am sure i will

have lots of things to post about

but i don't think i will be doing much

of that for a while, i still have lots to do!

it brings a nice soft focal point

new season at cb2, finally was able to say hi to all the amazing people I was able to train at the sf store for the la store, and let me tell you it looks great!

if your looking to revamp your place, or buy new furniture for the new year, cb2 is where its at, a great alternative to Ikea with a more expensive feel but still a nice scad/danish mod look.

Maybe the only one more excited then me about moving to London for a year is my Aunt. On Easter she handed me a few articles on places to eat in London from her foodie magazines.Ottolenghi's Islington location really caught my eye.
Not only was the interior incredibly refreshing, but the food looks amazing!

I don't leave for almost 5 months but all I can think about is all the cafes I want to try!

I just saw this post on Desire to Inspire and definitely got my daily acrylic kick and then some.

I love acrylic so much that it scares me to see it getting so blown up ( although you could argue it has been for a while...)

I love the shape of this stool, it is playful and not too heavy.

I am not a fan of the color but I love the overall shape and transparency.
I see a lot of stools and ottomans in similar shapes
but they are almost all solid and without the pad.
Tuileries coffee table
I love the mix of materials here, the wooden top is more serious while the oval shape and acyclic base give it some youth.
Pentagon Stool
I like this stool because by changing the seat pad it changes the whole look.
Right now the textural lines make it seem too mature, but with a nice floral or graphic print
it could be a really fun piece.

It is a beautiful day to clear out my deco files!

As always I forget to tag where I got the image from or who the designer is so please help me out and list the source if you know it!
I can't imagine a better chic city loft then this one by Stark Modern.
I love the clean crisp lines within the interior furniture
and architecture echoing the sharp skyline.
The outdoor furniture gives a little softness with the edges of the
white cushions,complimenting the soft round shapes the tree tops make.
The picture on the right is like a dream to me.
I have a thing for anything outdoors without
actually being outdoors.. if that makes any sense.
I love the intimacy the patio offers with its warm wood roof
and a sectional I could get lost in.
I love drama in a room so when I saw these amazing chairs next to the black textured brick wall- I died. I love how the chairs details really make it pop with the tufting, the plastic glare, the sculptured frame. I really think this would not look as good if the walls where not brick or if the chairs did not have the plastic feel to it.

The open ceiling, sculptural wall, dark floors, white paint,
dark metal rails, it is all soooo right. This was tagged as Jeffery King.

I really like to look at homes in pieces.
Anyone can have that one room that looks good,
but what happens when you get to the hallway?
Does it fail in comparison, or bring the home to a entirely new place?

I posted a long time ago a chandelier he made from old lenses from glasses, but the trasnlucent qualities of this one make it my favorite.

LONDON HERE I COME!

This fall I am going to be studying abroad at London Met for a year.
I have a few friends from the UK and they did not know much about it, does anyone have experience with the university? Is it a good school to study at? I had the choice of Australia or London and thought I would get more out of being in the UK so I went for it!

( I am so cheating but I really like his piece because it is a different approach then the usual organic style we are used to when it comes to Noguchi.)

This looks like something that could have been produced in the last ten years.
It is interesting seeing how design comes full circle.
