B is for Bellini

MARIO BELLINI

"An architect and one of Italy's most versatile and influential designers, Bellini was formerly editor-in-chief of Domus magazine (1986-91). He is known for his signature use of a single enveloping "skin" stretched over structural parts, which gives a sculptural, sensuous character to his furniture and industrial products. He has designed products for Olivetti; furniture for Cassina, B&B Italia, and Vitra; electronic equipment for Brionvega and Yamaha; lighting for Artemide, Flos, and Erco."
